Promoting Thinking in the Primary Science Curriculum

Description

This course focuses on how thinking can be promoted in the context of primary science. You and your colleagues will be introduced to some of the key theoretical and pedagogical ideas related to thinking and how to implement these through challenge, collaborative group work and speaking and listening.

Outcomes
Participants will:
 

  • take a fresh look at the science curriculum
  • develop science Schemes of Work that incorporate creative and innovative techniques
  • focus on developing independent learners who enjoy sharing, exploring, questioning and testing out scientific ideas.
    • Course cost:  £350 + travel costs if outside London

      Duration: 3 hours

      The course is suitable for primary teachers, teaching assistants and science co-ordinators.
