Primary STEM Education Consultancy is one of the most successful specialist primary STEM education consultancies in England. We work with national and regional STEM organisations, local authorities, multi-academy trusts (MATs), federations, education partnerships and individual primary schools to devise and implement strategies for primary STEM that unlock the potential in schools and teachers to inspire their pupils about STEM, while developing their confidence in teaching the STEM curricula and assessing their children’s knowledge. We are based in Central London, but work across England.

 

The company was founded in 2011 by our Director, Naomi Hiscock, who graduated from Imperial College, London with a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering. She worked briefly for Rolls Royce Ltd, who sponsored her degree, before training as a primary school teacher. During her career in schools, Naomi led both science and maths in inner-city London primary schools before becoming a local authority primary science consultant and then founding Primary STEM Education Consultancy.

Her experience as a teacher, subject leader and STEM education consultant informs the core values that underpin our work which are that children's learning is:

• maximised when they are able to take responsibility for shaping their learning; and

• most memorable and enjoyable when they are finding out about the world through their own exploration.

For this to happen, children need to be:

​

• equipped with the skills to work scientifically that will enable them to be independent learners; and

• provided with opportunities to make decisions for themselves.

We work in a number of different ways to achieve this, including:
 

• setting up and leading regular subject leader meetings

• developing and delivering annual programmes of continuing professional development (CPD)

• devising and delivering specific projects.
